Zoho Books Free Plan Limits in the US, and Where the Caps Apply

Table of Contents
As of 9 October 2026, Zoho Books’ US-edition Free plan allows 1,000 invoices and 1,000 expenses a year, one user plus one accountant, no automatic bank feeds; feeds start on Standard at $15 a month billed annually. Zoho says Free lasts while financial-year revenue does not exceed $50K. Zoho’s UK Free plan lists one bank feed, so “no feeds” is an edition fact (Zoho pricing pages, 9 October 2026).

If you only invoice and import statements, Free covers what Zoho lists. For seats, see what a five-person team pays.
What happens at the invoice cap and the $50K ceiling
Zoho states one consequence for the invoice cap and none for the revenue condition (9 October 2026).
🧾 Not Tested: No one on the team has a Zoho Books account; this records what Zoho’s pages state (retrieved 9 October 2026).
What Zoho states about the invoice cap
Zoho’s invoice-cap FAQ says new invoices cannot be created once the yearly count is used up, and points to upgrading or contacting sales (retrieved 9 October 2026). Zoho’s usage FAQ puts Usage Stats at Settings → Manage Subscription; it does not say its Sales count equals the invoice-cap count.
What Zoho does not state about the revenue ceiling
- We found no Zoho text on what happens when revenue passes the condition (checked 9 October 2026).
- We found no Zoho text on whether “a year” is the financial year or a rolling twelve months (checked 9 October 2026).
If you downgrade or cancel
🛟 Back This Up First: Save your invoice, expense and report records outside Zoho before any plan change.
Zoho’s downgrade page lists the downgrade to Free under “Cancel Your Subscription” and says the organization turns read-only after you cancel (retrieved 9 October 2026). We found no Zoho text on whether a downgrade to Free leaves it editable (checked 9 October 2026). See what happens to your data if you cancel.
