The Real Cost of the Invoice Simple Price Increase

Table of Contents
Invoice Simple’s pricing page, retrieved 22 September 2026, lists Essentials at $6.99 a month, Plus at $14.99 and Premium at $21.99. The company’s own blog, updated 5 August 2026, still shows Essentials at $4.99, Plus at $13.49 and Premium at $19.99. That is a 40% rise on Essentials. Under its Terms of Service, modified 1 June 2026, fees can change with prior notice, and all fees are non-refundable.
Did Invoice Simple raise prices on every plan?
Yes. All three paid plans cost more on the pricing page than in the company’s own comparison articles.
Which plans went up
Essentials, Plus and Premium all moved; section 2 has the figures. The date of the change is a gap: we found no first-party announcement and no archived capture that dates it.
For the longer record, see our Invoice Simple price history.
Web, App Store and Google Play billing
Invoice Simple is also sold as an app through Apple’s App Store and Google Play. We could not verify whether store subscribers are repriced on the same schedule as web subscribers. Section 4 covers what the Terms say.
Prices outside the US
The pricing page, retrieved 22 September 2026, states that prices are listed in USD and may vary by local currency.
How much each Invoice Simple plan went up

The monthly price rose on all three plans. The largest percentage rise was on Essentials.
Monthly prices, old vs new
| Plan | Earlier price | Price now | Change | Who hits this |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $4.99/mo (vendor blog, updated 5 Aug 2026) | $6.99/mo (pricing page, 22 Sep 2026) | +$2.00 (+40%) | Up to 3 invoices a month |
| Plus | $13.49/mo (vendor blog, updated 5 Aug 2026) | $14.99/mo (pricing page, 22 Sep 2026) | +$1.50 (+11%) | Up to 10 invoices a month |

Annual prices, old vs new
| Plan | Earlier price | Price now | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $69.99/yr (vendor blog, updated 5 Aug 2026) | $69.99/yr (pricing page, 22 Sep 2026) | None shown โ see note |
| Plus | $134.99/yr (vendor blog, updated 5 Aug 2026) | $149.99/yr (pricing page, 22 Sep 2026) | +$15.00 (+11%) |
| Premium | $199.99/yr (vendor blog, updated 5 Aug 2026) | $219.99/yr (pricing page, 22 Sep 2026) | +$20.00 (+10%) |
The blog’s two Essentials figures cannot both be right: twelve payments of $4.99 come to $59.88, which is less than the $69.99 annual price. We found no first-party source for an earlier Essentials annual price, so the table shows no change for that row.
๐๏ธ Pricing verified 22 September 2026. Software pricing changes frequently โ confirm on the vendor’s site before purchasing. We re-check this page every 90 days; next scheduled check: 21 December 2026.
Did Invoice Simple’s features change with the price?
We found no first-party record of features being added or removed alongside the price change. Two of Invoice Simple’s own pages do, however, describe the plans differently.
What each plan lists now

The pricing page, retrieved 22 September 2026, lists the plans as follows:
- Essentials: autofill for client and item info, online payments, real-time read receipts and the mobile app.
- Plus: everything in Essentials, plus photos, a business owner signature, summary reports and due date reminders.
- Premium: everything in Plus, plus client signatures, premium templates, deposits and restoring previous invoices.
Where the App Store listing differs
The App Store description, retrieved 22 September 2026, places autofill in Plus rather than Essentials. It also lists expense tracking under Essentials and first-response support priority under Premium.
We can’t tell which page is current. Treat the pricing page as the reference for web purchases. Our full Invoice Simple plan breakdown covers what each tier includes.
Can Invoice Simple raise your price mid-subscription?
Yes. Invoice Simple’s Terms of Service, last modified 1 June 2026, reserve the right to “modify any stated fees upon prior notice.”
What the Terms say about fee changes
The Terms do not state how much notice you get before a fee change. They do give 30 days to reject updated terms, but that clause covers changes to the agreement, not price changes.
Refunds after a price change
Section 6 of the Terms says all fees are non-refundable. It also rules out refunds for partial use, for upgrades or downgrades, and for unused months on an active account.
โ ๏ธ This Costs You: If a renewal goes through at a higher price, the Terms as written give no refund for it. Decide before your renewal date, not after.
If you pay through Apple or Google
Store subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, whose own price-change rules may apply. We did not verify those rules for this article. Check your store subscription settings for a price-change notice.
What the increase costs you in a year
For most readers, the monthly difference matters less than how many invoices they actually send. All figures below are the site’s own calculations from Invoice Simple’s published prices as of 22 September 2026.
Monthly vs annual after the increase
On monthly billing, the increase adds $24 a year on Essentials, $18 on Plus and $24 on Premium. That is the monthly change in section 2’s table, multiplied by 12.
Paying annually now costs $13.89 less than twelve monthly payments on Essentials, $29.89 less on Plus and $43.89 less on Premium. The pricing page describes annual billing as two months free.
Cost per invoice at each plan’s cap
Divide the plan’s price by its invoice cap:
- Monthly billing: $2.33 per invoice on Essentials (3 invoices a month) and $1.50 on Plus (10 a month).
- Annual billing: $1.94 on Essentials (36 invoices a year) and $1.25 on Plus (120 a year).
๐ Why It Works This Way: The caps reset monthly, so these per-invoice figures are the lowest possible, reached only if you use every invoice. Premium has no cap, so its cost per invoice keeps falling the more you send.
โ Do This: Count the invoices you sent in each of the last three months before choosing a plan. If you regularly send 4โ10, Essentials no longer covers you.
The bigger question is whether Invoice Simple is still worth it at the new price.
Your options after the Invoice Simple price increase
The Price Lock program locks your rate for at least 12 months, according to its FAQ retrieved 22 September 2026. The condition is that online payments stay enabled on all your invoices.
Price Lock: what it holds and what it asks
Your clients don’t have to pay online for you to qualify. When they do, the FAQ caps transaction fees at 3.49% + $0.49 per payment, and a setting lets you pass that fee on to the client.
The FAQ does not say which rate gets locked, whether new enrolments are still open, or whether App Store and Google Play subscribers qualify. Confirm all three with Invoice Simple support before you rely on it.
Switching to annual or a different plan
Annual billing is the cheapest way to stay on your current plan; section 5 has the figures. Before moving down a tier, check your invoice count against the lower plan’s cap in section 2.
Leaving
The Terms offer no refund for unused months, so decide before your next renewal. Cancellation steps differ between web and app-store billing and are not covered here.
๐งพ Not Tested: We do not hold an Invoice Simple subscription, so we could not see an in-app price notice, confirm how existing subscribers were repriced, or test Price Lock enrolment. Everything above comes from Invoice Simple’s public pages, retrieved 22 September 2026.
