The actual figures behind the Xero price increase in the UK

Xero price increase in the UK from 1 September 2026

Xero’s UK prices rose on 1 September 2026: Ignite £16 to £18, Grow £37 to £39, Comprehensive £50 to £55, Ultimate £65 to £70 a month excluding VAT. Simple holds at £7. Comprehensive is the steepest rise at 10%. It applies to existing subscribers, not only new ones. Figures from Xero’s pricing update page, checked 1 September 2026.

Who the Xero price change applies to

Yes, if you are a UK subscriber on Ignite, Grow, Comprehensive or Ultimate. Xero’s update page, retrieved 1 September 2026, covers those four plans in the UK only and leaves optional add-ons alone.

If you are on Xero’s US plans, this is not your increase — different plan names, a different currency and a different effective date. Our guide to Xero pricing, plan limits and what it costs to leave covers the US line-up.

When the new prices start

The change takes effect from 1 September 2026 and shows on invoices from that date onwards.

Whether existing subscribers are included

They are. Xero’s page states it applies to new and existing UK subscribers, so staying put does not hold your old subscription price.

The one plan that didn’t move

Simple is the only plan whose price is unchanged — see the table below. If you still call your plan Standard or Premium, those names were retired when the four-plan line-up went on sale on 12 September 2024, and the plan-by-plan breakdown will place you.

The new monthly prices

Every figure above comes from Xero’s UK pricing update page, retrieved 1 September 2026. All are GBP, per month, and exclude VAT.

What the increase works out at per plan

The largest cash rise and the largest percentage rise are not the same plan. Comprehensive and Ultimate move most in pounds. Ignite moves most in percentage terms, on the smallest cash change of the four.

💵 Verified: Comprehensive rises from £50 to £55 a month excluding VAT on 1 September 2026 — Xero’s UK pricing update page, retrieved 1 September 2026.

The increase column is our calculation from Xero’s published figures. Xero states the change in pounds only.

What Xero’s own pricing page showed on the day

Xero’s UK pricing update and pricing pages displayed different price information when checked on 1 September 2026.

On 1 September 2026, Xero’s UK pricing page still displayed the pre-increase figures on all four plan tiles, under a banner announcing the increase from that date.

The two pages, side by side

The update page carried the new schedule. The pricing page tiles carried the old one. The 80%-off new-customer tiles were also calculated from the pre-increase prices.

Why they may disagree

We can record what the pages showed and when, not why. Cached delivery and a rollout timed to a New Zealand business day are both plausible, and we are not choosing between them.

Whether signing up today locks anything in

It does not. Xero’s update page states the new prices apply to new and existing UK subscribers from 1 September 2026, so a signup at a displayed old price does not secure that rate.

The change that isn’t in Xero’s table

Two things changed on 1 September 2026, and only one of them appears in the table above.

The multi-organisation discount is gone

From 1 September 2026 Xero no longer applies the multi-organisation discount to subscriptions, per its update page retrieved that day.

What Xero doesn’t publish about it

The size of the discount. Xero confirms the removal and gives no figure on any page we retrieved on 1 September 2026. Several UK publishers quote a range without citing a first-party source, so we are not repeating it. A dated invoice line or a Xero support article would settle it.

What happens to your existing promo code

Discounts and promo codes already on your account keep applying against the new pricing until they expire, per the same page.

⚠️ This Costs You: Running more than one organisation means absorbing two changes at once — the plan rise and the withdrawn discount — and only one of them is quantified anywhere.

More on that in what losing the multi-organisation discount means.

What this adds to a year of Xero

The monthly figure is not the number you budget against.

Xero price annual cost impact showing monthly increases converted to yearly costs
A monthly Xero price increase of £2 adds £24 per year, while a £5 monthly increase adds £60 per year before VAT.

The annual increase per plan

Twelve months of the monthly change in the table above comes to £24 a year on Ignite and Grow, and £60 a year on Comprehensive and Ultimate, before VAT. With VAT at 20% those become £28.80 and £72. Both annual sets are our arithmetic on Xero’s published monthly figures, not Xero’s.

What the plan price leaves out

Xero quotes every price excluding VAT and excluding add-ons. Its UK pricing page, retrieved 1 September 2026, lists payroll at £1.50 per additional person and £1 on Ultimate, expenses at £2.50 per additional user, contractor CIS returns at £5 a month, and auto-reconcile at £3.50 a month on Ignite. None of those rates moved on 1 September 2026.

💵 Verified: Payroll costs £1.50 per additional person, and £1 per additional person on Ultimate — Xero’s UK pricing page, retrieved 1 September 2026.

What you can do about it

Three moves, each with its constraint.

Xero price increase decision guide showing how to check your plan invoice and options
Check your Xero plan and next invoice before deciding whether to stay, downgrade, or reprice against alternatives.

Check which plan you’re on

Xero’s update page points you to the Subscription area of your account. Do that before acting on any figure here — plan names changed in 2024 and many subscribers are on a different one than they think.

Whether downgrading is worth it

Xero’s pricing page states you can move to a cheaper plan one month after an upgrade, and that subscriptions auto-renew monthly until cancelled, both retrieved 1 September 2026. A downgrade trades features and included seats for the saving; the steps belong in downgrading or leaving.

When to reprice against alternatives

Not on one increase alone. That comparison belongs on a page that actually runs it, and this is not that page.

✅ Do This: Confirm your plan in the Subscription area, then check your next invoice against the table above before deciding anything.

🧾 Not Tested: We hold no UK Xero subscription. We have not seen a Xero invoice, a Subscription screen, or a billing history, and we make no claim about what any individual account will be charged. Everything above is taken from two public Xero pages retrieved on 1 September 2026.
